Hi everyone,
I’m Noah Arney, and I’ll be hosting Focus Fridays this year—a biweekly HESA webinar series bringing together the Canadian higher education community for timely, open conversations about the issues shaping the sector.
This Friday, September 18, I’ll be joined by Sterling Crowe, Associate Dean of Student Wellness and Equitable Learning at Humber Polytechnic and President of CACUSS, and Jennifer Browne, Director of Student Life at Memorial University of Newfoundland, for a discussion on The Student Experience This Year.
As the semester gets underway, we’ll explore some of the key issues currently shaping the student experience across Canadian higher education, including:
- the concerns we’re hearing most frequently from students
- how the student experience has changed over the past several years
- how students are responding to the growing role of AI in higher education
- changes in student supports and what is driving those changes
- and how changing government priorities are affecting the student experience
Focus Friday is designed to be an open, discussion-driven conversation, and I hope you’ll join us with your own questions, experiences, and perspectives.
Focus Friday takes place this Friday, September 18, from 12:30–1:30 p.m. Eastern.

I look forward to the discussion.
