- Organization skills to sequence tasks across multiple concurrent projects, make efficient use of time, and manage information effectively.
- Commitment and skill with regard to questions of inclusivity, diversity and equity.
- Capacity to build and manage client relationships, act as a day-to-day point of contact, and respond to client needs with judgment and tact.
- Advanced skills in identifying, retrieving and critically assessing primary and secondary literature, statistics, financial and other data pertinent to higher education in Canada and internationally.
- Solid capacity to analyze institutional and government budgets and financial data.

- Experience designing and conducting interviews, focus groups and consultations with senior stakeholders, including executive leaders at higher education institutions.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to review and strengthen the work of others.
- Openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous learning.

- Experience facilitating workshops, focus groups or planning sessions with senior audiences, online and in person.
- Prior consulting experience, or experience working in or with postsecondary institutions or government.
