Sarah Tracy
Research Manager
Sarah Tracy holds a PhD in the History of Science and Technology from the University of
Toronto. She is trained in qualitative research methods and has worked on SSHRC and
CIHR funded projects on topics ranging from climate change mitigation to environmental
justice in the Great Lakes region and dietary correlates of ADHD symptoms in children. Dr.
Tracy has postdoctoral research experience in food and health policy, and has taught
courses at the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Toronto, and the New
School in New York City. She also holds a BBA in Marketing from the University of New
Brunswick, where she worked in public relations and student recruitment before beginning
her graduate studies. She has published several peer-reviewed papers, and her book on the
science and politics of the fifth taste sensation, umami, is forthcoming from the University
of California Press.
