Since 2018, HESA has released The State of Postsecondary Education in Canada, or SPEC. This report compiles and analyses key indicators concerning Canadian higher education, including: academic staff trends, enrollment figures, income sources for institutions, international comparisons, and tuition data.

The 2022 edition has several new features, including a new chapter on research trends.
