This module contains information on respondent's experience in high school, including his/her participation and behavioral involvement in the social/academic aspects of high school. Links to related code books are provided at the bottom.
This module includes YITS scale variables of high school engagement and self-perception and PISA indices regarding to student's high school experience. For more details on YITS scale variables, please see the Statistics Canada technical document "Youth in transition survey 2000, YITS reading cohort, Cycle 1, User Guide", p70-111. For details on PISA indices, please see OECD 2002, Manual for the PISA 2000 Database, Paris, OECD, 2002, p 28.
In Cycle 1, the information in this module comes from 2 sources: the PISA student questionnaire and the YITS student questionnaire. The column titled "Source" gives the data source for variables of cycle 1 listed on its left. Data collected from the YITS student questionnaire and PISA student questionnaire are reported by students themselves. In Cycle 2 and Cycle 3, data are stored in "Personal Level Main File". From cycle 4, this module is not followed up for cohort A because students in cohort A are 21 years old in Cycle 4 and most of them already left high school.
